I think these pictures show diversity in our school community because they show how our school has mixed groups and communities as they show that the school teaches equality. As well as, they show diversity as they show the school have made access for disabled people allowing a more diverse community and school.
It is important that people see physical signs of diversity because it may comfort a person to be in that community and allows communities to mix with people that they wouldn’t usually.

Definitions and examples of discrimination and stereotyping
Direct discrimination … is when a person or group experience outright, targeted discrimination.
Example: The Stephen Lawrence family experienced an extreme case direct discrimination. Stephen was targeted by white youth in a racist attack and lost his life.
Indirect discrimination is when an individual or group is treated unfairly but in a way that is hard to pinpoint. You want to say they are being discriminated against but it is hard to prove.
Example:
Positive discrimination:
Discrimination legislation says it is ok to positively discriminate if the group is under-represented and need facilities to access work
Example:
Discrimination arising from disability is when a person or group is treated in a negative way because they are different mentally or physically.
Example: killing someone because they are in a wheelchair.
Protected characteristics is when you can’t discriminate someone because of their race, age, sexuality, gender reassignment, pregnancy, religious beliefs, gender or sexual orientation.
Example: not legally calling someone gay in a negative way if they are or making them feel like they are mentally damaged or have made a wrong decision being gay.
Stereotyping is when a person or group is given special treatment because they come from that group.
Example: If someone is treated differently because they have a different skin colour to everyone else in a group.
Positive stereotyping is when you mistakenly label a person or a group of people in a nice way due to common cultural myths.
Example: Someone is in a place that has a low criminal rate and people suspect that everyone there is not criminally driven.
